Sophie-Jane trained privately as a professional dancer under the teaching of one of the UK’s leading Classical Ballet Coaches, Julie Felix.
Although Sophie did not have the opportunity to attend a vocational ballet school, her training still allowed her to audition for ballet companies such as English National Ballet. Whilst auditioning for professional jobs, Sophie sustained a career altering injury to which she stopped dancing and pursued her passion for teaching.
Since that time, Sophie has worked alongside ballet masters from top companies and ballet schools in the UK whilst teaching such as Birmingham Royal Ballet and Elmhurst Ballet School.
Sophie has successfully trained dancers who have been awarded places at; The Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst ballet School, Central School of Ballet, Tring Park, Kings International Ballet, The Royal Ballet Associate programme and Elmhurst Young Dancers programme.
Having made it through a three part interview and audition process, Sophie-Jane was awarded one of only 12 places with the Royal Ballet School on the Diploma of Dance Teaching course. She has just started the two year course in London at the Royal Ballet Upper School, Covent Garden.
